The Last Exorcist

Written by Michelle Kayla, Chenny 11S

“Father Thomas! If you have a moment!” A man in his mid 30 turned around as he is called . He

was met with a familiarity with a young man, breathlessly trying to gasp for air. His suit and tie

crumpled as he ran through the crowd of people.

“Oh, It’s you from yesterday. Is this about the need for me to ‘clean’ the house? I’ve said it, I

don’t do that stuff anymore, especially unauthorized ones.” As Father Thomas turned to leave

again, the man grasped his arm.

“Please! Just this once! I really need this, please. I’m begging you...” the man trailed off, with

pure desperation in his voice. Father Thomas sighs, he pitied the man.

“Fine, just this once. This is only between us.” The man’s knee fell to the ground with a thud as

he sobs with relief.

And here he is, standing right in front of the tainted building. It is said that two girls disappeared

when they challenged themself for fun. But that was 3 years ago, no one knew what had

happened to them at all. Gripping his bibble tightly in his hand, he set foot into the ominous

house, he promised himself that this will be the very end of his career.

Dust and debris flew straight to his nose as the floorboard creaked underneath his feet. Father

Thomas walked around the house for further inspection. It is very old and dusty for sure. There

is still some furniture left tidily in the corner of the room covered with white clothes. Then

another creak from the end room catches his attention.

With a frown, he gulped as he walked closer to that room. He clutches the cross in his hand and

holds it out in the air as he stalks closer to the room. He opened the door with his feet and his

eyes widened as his eyes landed on a girl figure, crying on the floor.

“Who are you?” the girl sobbed harder as she looked at him. In her tattered red dress, smeared

cheek, unruled hair, rubbing her red puffy eyes. She got up and stood still.

“I- I don’t know you need to help me sir.” Father Thomas, with years of experience, knows this is

not just any normal girl.

“No, what are you?” he instantly pushed his hand with the cross closer to the girl as she flinched

back. The frown on the girl's face turned to an evil smile as he sobs turned into a fit of giggles

that sent the shivers down his spine. He quickly opened his bible and read out loud all the

mantras.

“You know, those won’t work on me father.” comes a deep, stomach gurgling voice from the little

girl. Ignoring ‘its’ words he chanted the mantra louder. From the corner of his eyes he sees the

demon stalk closer to him and the last thing he sees is black before he was knocked out.

When he woke up, his head throbbed hard.

'Why don’t we go out for a walk father?’ the deep voice echoed in his mind. He frantically stood

up and looked around, no sign of the little girl. It took him a second to realize what was

happening. Then the giggling starts again. ‘I can live freely now!’ it screeched

.

Without a second thought, Father Thomas, controlled by ‘it’ ran straight out of the house and

into the dark forest and that was the last time he was seen by anybody.
