Dark Harmony

Written by Luna Exercise has never been my forte, and participating in any kind of physical exertion activities are dreadful for me. Sports festival was the worst time of the year for any student like me, but I still couldn’t escape it, even when I knew that time of the year was coming. I could still remember the terror of those days. ‘Hurry up, Scarlet! The mandatory marathon is starting soon and if we miss it we’re dead!’ ‘Yes, I know.’ I grumbled under my breath as I approached my friend at the marathon trail designed by our school. There were many different kinds of obstacles placed along this race, though I’d rather call it doorway of doom rather than a competition, including hilly areas, pools of sand and narrow beams of soil. I often found it ironic that so much effort would be placed on such terrible activities. In a mere glance, I was at the starting line; my mind was already wandering off. ‘It’ll be better this year... I hope.’ Although I hate noise, the indistinct chattering

Aight, We go Again

Written by Jason In the midst of a mid-urban war-collapsed city, lies a civilization, those who have survived the war continue to strive in this very city. The wreck of the city had caused a magnificent view for the human eye to see; tilted buildings leaning on one another, moss, vegetation as its whole, devouring the city gradually. Towers within the city are barely climbable, but if one manages, they get to see the magnificent gem of a plateau-like view of the silent city. With winds blowing through your hair, goosebumps arise within your skin, it really is the perfect scenery. The war…? The forgotten war of 1982, lost to history, alive in the minds of the civilians The enemies were merciless, many were loss, and many families were separated in the act of protecting their loved ones. The town was abandoned, tossed away to be consumed by nature, many were lost, but not everything was gone. Hope and wishes were the one keeping the town alive, and that alone caused a small population to

Hell Hound

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the season of Light, and the season of Darkness; the thriving community was getting prepared for the Ghost festival, ameliorating their french-old houses. Then there went the Browns, who had not decorated a single ornament on the house. Mitch, being the elder brother, was a quiet fellow, a bit dull and got omitted in school. Growing up with him was his younger brother, Nic, who was his complete opposite, being bright and bipolar all day. His stepfather, who always wears a beret hat and left with an old, dilapidated dwelling place, with two kids to rear, after their late mother had passed 5 years ago, from a horrendous wolf attack in the woods. Intriguingly their most beloved mother left two puppies before her passing, in which they call Bunny and Jake. The Browns were so enthralled by the festival that they hardly feel tired adorning their dull, almost-monochromatic house. Mitch was going through the shed, trying to find a

The Hollow House

Written by Luna 9P Creak... ‘This room,’ I said in a loud ‘unshakable’ voice as my body whimpered into the darkness, ‘she must’ve tricked me into one of those rituals - again - this year. Only a few days difference, I should have known.’ I slipped my hand into my pocket to find my phone. Susan must be trying to make me help her with an annual ritual again. My mind turned blank, where is my phone? I was already infuriated but I might as well just confront her. It was only 30 seconds since I entered this room, but I was already able to map out all the possibilities, good or bad(mostly terrible), this room could cause. It was absolutely pitch black except for a single candle on a shaky wooden table. I should have expected this to come, afterall, it’s that time of the year, Halloween. Perfect for ghosts. I clenched my fists and zipped up my jacket (I already forgot what colour it was) and tensed my muscles. ‘I don’t believe in ghosts, it’s gonna be another failed ritual,’ I repeated in my

The Last Exorcist

Written by Michelle Kayla, Chenny 11S “Father Thomas! If you have a moment!” A man in his mid 30 turned around as he is called . He was met with a familiarity with a young man, breathlessly trying to gasp for air. His suit and tie crumpled as he ran through the crowd of people. “Oh, It’s you from yesterday. Is this about the need for me to ‘clean’ the house? I’ve said it, I don’t do that stuff anymore, especially unauthorized ones.” As Father Thomas turned to leave again, the man grasped his arm. “Please! Just this once! I really need this, please. I’m begging you...” the man trailed off, with pure desperation in his voice. Father Thomas sighs, he pitied the man. “Fine, just this once. This is only between us.” The man’s knee fell to the ground with a thud as he sobs with relief. And here he is, standing right in front of the tainted building. It is said that two girls disappeared when they challenged themself for fun. But that was 3 years ago, no one knew what had happened to them at

The Gruesome Shadow

Written by Ying Ju 9S I always knew my Mother was somewhat materialistic, but I had never imagined that she would leave Dad for it. Three years ago, a bankruptcy had befallen above us. We were forced to move out of our house, so we rented a stuffy flat downtown. It was grim. Mom and Dad fought a lot – one night however; Mom forcefully packed some bags and yanked me out of our flat. That was the last night I ever saw Dad. Every year, during Halloween, the memories of that night dwell inside my mind. Tormenting me with envy, as I couldn't help but despise those children, who still had parents, who cared. Halloween used to be my most treasured celebration, Mom and Dad would take me trick-or-treating in the most terrifying costumes. Our home was embellished with spider webs, jack-o'-lanterns and skeletons, which spooked small children. At night, we would watch horror movies, while feasting on our candies until our stomach aches. We were buoyant and jovial – words which I have not
